A new minicomputer called EX1/EXR1 with an unusual shape and modern look has gone on sale in China. It was developed in partnership with Chatreey and Soayan brands and resembles a smart speaker rather than a regular system unit in appearance, local sources reported.
The device has a cylindrical body with a bright LED ring installed at the top. Due to the fact that the outside is covered with fabric, it looks beautiful not only functionally, but also aesthetically. Therefore, EX1/EXR1 is suitable for decoration not only in the office, but also in a room or hotel.
Technically, it has high parameters: the device uses an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS processor, a Radeon 780M graphics system, DDR5 type RAM, and an NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD drive. This makes it a convenient device not only for work but also for video editing or gaming.
At the same time, EX1/EXR1 also supports modern connection technologies - it has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 modules, USB4 Type-C, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and a 2.5G internet port.
Interestingly, two 10-watt speakers are installed inside the minicomputer. This doesn't require a separate audio device to listen to music or watch a movie. Therefore, EX1/EXR1, unlike standard mini-computers, is more developed with the concept of "everything in one place."
The device does not have an internal battery - it is constantly connected to a power source. Therefore, it is classified not as a laptop, but as a stationary desktop computer.
In terms of price, EX1/EXR1 is also considered a competitive option: with a price of approximately $480, it is considered a convenient and effective choice in its category.
Analysts note that this model opens a new direction in terms of design and functionality - it aims to be both a working device and an interior at the same time. This minicomputer, combining minimalism, efficiency, and aesthetics, is expected to generate significant market interest in the coming weeks.
