From January to September 2025, Uzbekistan imported a total of 40,345 electric cars from 16 foreign countries. According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of this import amounted to 473 million US dollars.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of electric cars imported increased by 24,140 units, or nearly 2.5 times. This indicates a growing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles in Uzbekistan in recent years.
Among the countries supplying electric cars, China is the absolute leader — in the first nine months of 2025, 39,798 electric cars were imported from China to Uzbekistan. Additionally, Hong Kong (249), South Korea (165), Germany (43), and the United States (25) also exported electric cars.
Experts believe that the advantage of Chinese electric cars is due to their relatively low price and technological updates. The growth of imports in this segment in recent years also promotes the expansion of “green” transport infrastructure in the country.
