Apple's design team leader Alan Day is moving to Meta

Alan Dye, who has been with Apple since 2006 and contributed to the creation of major interfaces from iOS 7 to visionOS, will now be working in a new role at Meta. Starting from December 31, he will lead a new design division focused on AR/VR devices and smart glasses.

Alan Dye's Path at Apple:
• 2006: Joined the marketing and communications department
• 2012: Moved to the interface design team under Jony Ive
• Contributed to the designs of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS
• In recent years, was one of the key authors of the Vision Pro and Liquid Glass designs

Who will replace Alan Dye?
Apple will replace Alan Dye with Stephen Lemay, who has over 25 years of experience. Since 1999, Lemay has played a significant role in creating nearly all major interfaces at Apple.
