Former Tesla engineers unveiled the Fort tracker

A San Francisco startup founded by former Tesla engineers has introduced Fort, a fitness band built specifically for strength training. Unlike most smartwatches, the device has no screen and is designed to record workouts automatically without manual input. Reports Ixbt.com.
The wristband uses an inertial measurement unit with an accelerometer and gyroscope, along with an optical heart rate sensor. By analyzing wrist motion at a high sampling rate, Fort can identify exercises and log reps, sets and rest time on its own.

The companion app offers deeper training analysis, including muscle load, proximity to failure, time under tension, rep speed and range of motion. It supports more than 50 activities, including gym exercises, cardio sessions and Pilates.
For lower-body workouts, the company created a charging dock with a built-in magnet that can attach to gym machines and act as an external motion sensor. This allows the system to track leg exercises performed on press and cable machines more accurately.

Fort also monitors general wellness metrics such as sleep stages, stress, heart rate zones, VO2 max and heart rate variability. The band is rated for up to seven days of battery life. Preorders have opened at $289 with a one-year app subscription, while the retail price is set at $319 plus an $80 annual subscription. The first shipments are planned for the third quarter of 2026.
