OpenAI introduces Pro plan for developers

OpenAI has introduced a new Pro subscription plan priced at $100 per month, specifically designed to meet the needs of programmers. This new tier fills the gap in the company's pricing structure, which ranges from the budget-friendly Go plan at $8 to the high-end Pro version costing $200 per month. Reports 3dnews.ru.
The primary focus of the $100 plan is to enhance access to ChatGPT Codex, the platform's code generation tool. Users on this tier will receive a quota five times larger than that of the standard Plus plan. Meanwhile, the $200 Pro option remains available, offering a quota 20 times higher than the Plus version for those with the most demanding workloads.
According to an OpenAI representative, the new pricing is intended to provide developers with more practical capabilities during intense coding sessions and directly competes with Anthropic's Claude. The company noted that Codex has seen rapid growth, with over 3 million weekly users and a monthly growth rate exceeding 70% over the last quarter.
As an introductory offer, OpenAI is providing increased quotas for the $100 plan until May 31. While no plan offers completely unlimited access, the company asserts that its highest tiers are sufficient for managing complex, parallel projects without interruption.
