Russia marks 10th anniversary of Vostochny Cosmodrome launch

Rossiya Vostochniy kosmodromi ishga tushganining 10 yilligini nishonlamoqda

On April 28, 2016, the first "Soyuz-2.1a" rocket was successfully launched from the Vostochniy cosmodrome. Through this launch, the rocket with the "Volga" upper stage delivered the "Lomonosov", "Aist-2D" and "SamSat-218" devices into orbit. Ixbt.com reports about this.

Today, the Vostochniy cosmodrome covers an area of 700 square kilometers and includes modern launch complexes. A unique mobile service tower, 52 meters high and weighing 1,600 tons, has been built here, which allows for flight preparations even in difficult climatic conditions.

Also, a separate area for "Angara" rockets is being developed in the complex. This area is designed to carry out up to 10 launches per year, including prospective manned missions.

The cosmodrome infrastructure continues to expand. The runway of the airport, commissioned in 2025, allows for a significant reduction in the time of delivery and transportation of spacecraft via air transport.
