Microsoft announced on Wednesday that the number of users and the activity level of its Copilot artificial intelligence tool, integrated into M365 applications, continue to grow. During a quarterly earnings conference, the company's CEO Satya Nadella noted that M365 Copilot now has 20 million paid corporate users. Techcrunch.com reports on this.
According to Nadella, the number of companies purchasing more than 50,000 licenses has quadrupled. Major corporations such as Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Mercedes, and Roche hold more than 90,000 licenses.
Additionally, a contract has been signed with Accenture for more than 740,000 licenses, marking the largest deal to date.
User activity with Copilot has reached levels comparable to email usage. "Copilot queries per user increased by nearly 20 percent quarter-over-quarter.
Weekly activity is now at the same level as Outlook," Nadella said.
Copilot is not dependent on just one model, such as OpenAI. Users have the ability to utilize multiple models within the chat.
Microsoft 365 also supports Anthropic's Claude model.
Morgan Stanley representative Kit Veys noted that Microsoft 365 Copilot metrics are very impressive and significantly higher than many expected. Starting last week, Agent mode became a standard experience across Copilot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which is further increasing usage.
