Procedure for building data center infrastructure in Russia to be simplified

Plans are underway to simplify the process of building infrastructure for data centers in Russia. According to new regulations, the requirement to obtain construction permits from landowners may be abolished. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Currently, the biggest obstacle to launching data centers is the difficulty in laying power grids and communication channels. Landowners and owners of engineering facilities often block projects by refusing to grant permission for cable installation.
According to data from the Analytical Center under the Government, current legislation requires the consent of all landowners, which significantly slows down the process. Amendments to the Civil Code are being proposed to solve this problem.
Specifically, when using technologies such as horizontal directional drilling, the surface of the land is not damaged. In such cases, instead of obtaining permission from landowners, simply notifying them will be sufficient.
These changes will serve to accelerate infrastructure development and reduce administrative barriers in the sector. This creates new opportunities for expanding digital technologies and server capacities in Russia.
