Stockholm's new star: Pit AI startup

Although Sweden's Pit startup initially drew attention with its viral social media posts, it has now become one of the most promising AI projects in Stockholm. The company is led by the founders of the Voi scooter service, including Fredrik Hjelm, as well as former engineers from iZettle and Klarna. The project has raised $16 million from the venture capital firm a16z, according to a report by.
Pit specializes in creating custom software for corporate clients and automating business processes. According to CEO Adam Jafer, the main driver for the project was the evolution of modern AI models from simple text-generating chatbots into agents capable of performing practical tasks. Pit positions itself not just as a software tool, but as an "AI service team."
The startup operates in two main areas: Pit Studio and Pit Cloud. While Pit Studio allows employees to manage processes using AI, Pit Cloud provides a software environment that meets corporate standards, security, and audit requirements. Currently, the company is conducting trials with clients in the telecommunications, healthcare, and logistics sectors to automate internal processes.
Adam Jafer emphasizes that Pit aims not to reduce jobs, but to free employees from tedious and repetitive office tasks, directing them toward work that brings more value to the business. The company is hiring specialized engineers to guarantee results for its clients and is striving to increase productivity using AI capabilities.
