Mobile internet may be restricted in Moscow and the region on May 9

The Russian mobile operator Beeline has sent a warning to its subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region about potential disruptions to mobile internet and SMS services on May 9. This was reported by Ixbt.com reporting that.

According to the operator, temporary restrictions will be imposed on mobile network operations to ensure the safety of Victory Day celebrations. These restrictions will also apply to access via "white lists".

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development stated that there were no plans to shut down the internet in Moscow on May 7–8. However, the ministry did not rule out the possibility of prompt and targeted measures if security threats arise.

Experts note that disruptions in mobile communication and internet services are expected during the celebrations on May 9. Users are advised to be prepared for connectivity issues during this period.
