The Yandex 360 team sent an important email notification to users of the Yandex Disk desktop application. According to the notice, starting June 3 of this year, full access to the application will be available only to users with a paid Yandex 360 subscription. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Company representatives explained that from this date, cloud functions will be restricted for users without a subscription. This means that the ability to work with files directly through the cloud will be disabled, meaning most actions within the application will no longer be available.
At the same time, all user data will remain stored in the cloud. Access via the web version or other devices remains unchanged. In the desktop application, only files previously downloaded to the device will be visible.
Yandex explained these changes by citing an increase in use cases where the application is used for working with large volumes of files. Since such processes require significant resources, the company decided to move these features to a subscription model.
