Sony Xperia 1 VIII design undergoes a radical change

Ahead of the official launch, marketing images of the Sony Xperia 1 VIII smartphone have leaked online. They show that the company is breaking away from its traditions of recent years, significantly updating the flagship's design. The three camera modules are now housed in a single rectangular block instead of the traditional vertical line. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

The main and ultra-wide-angle lenses are located in the upper part of the camera module, while the periscopic telephoto lens is positioned at the bottom. Nevertheless, Sony has remained true to its principles in the front panel design: the symmetrical bezels around the screen are preserved, and there are no notches or cutouts on the display.

The smartphone is equipped with a metal body and a dedicated physical shutter button for photography. It has also been confirmed that Sony's partnership with Zeiss will continue. According to technical specifications, the device will feature a 6.5-inch OLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The device is expected to be available in Graphite Black, Iolite Silver, and Garnet Red, with a potential gold version as well. It is estimated that the price of the Xperia 1 VIII will start at 1800 euros. The official launch event is scheduled for May 13.
