Meta is developing an AI-powered pendant device

Meta is working on a custom AI-powered pendant device that it plans to test next year. According to a report reviewed by The Information, the gadget will be capable of recording and analyzing users' daily conversations. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The project is expected to be based on developments from the startup Limitless, which Meta acquired in late 2025. Limitless specialized in creating wearable AI pendants that record conversations. Meta representatives stated that this acquisition would allow the company to "accelerate the creation of AI-powered wearable devices."
Other AI gadgets released to the market previously did not gain popularity among consumers. This may be due to privacy concerns, poor marketing strategies, or the devices not being useful enough. Nevertheless, major tech giants like OpenAI do not intend to abandon this direction.
The report states that Meta also plans to expand its line of smart glasses and launch a business subscription called "Wearables for Work." With the new devices, the company hopes to improve the financial performance of its Reality Labs division, which lost $4 billion in the first quarter of this year.
