Nitecore introduces a new 18650 format battery with a USB-C port

Nitecore, a global leader in portable power and lighting equipment, has unveiled its new product: the NL1840R lithium-ion battery. The main feature of this device is that, despite being in the traditional 18650 format, it can be charged directly via a built-in USB Type-C port. This is reported by Ixbt.com. reports .

The new battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh (14.4 Wh) and a nominal voltage of 3.6 Volts. According to ixbt.com, the presence of a USB-C port eliminates the need for users to carry special and expensive chargers. Now, the battery can be charged using a standard smartphone cable or a Power Bank.

Technical capabilities and design features

A special light indicator is located on the body of the Nitecore NL1840R battery. During the charging process, the indicator glows red, and once the process is complete and energy is fully restored, it turns green. This provides great convenience for the user to monitor the process.

It is worth noting that the USB-C port is not the only charging method. The NL1840R is fully compatible with traditional chargers designed for lithium-ion batteries. It also charges inside flashlights that have their own charging system. However, the manufacturer warns of one important aspect: due to the built-in port, the length of the battery increases slightly to 71 mm. This may cause compatibility issues with some compact devices.

Durability and market availability

According to the company, the new battery is designed for at least 500 full charge cycles. Even after this period, the device is guaranteed to retain approximately 80% of its initial capacity. Although a 4000 mAh capacity is not an absolute record for the 18650 format, such high-performance models with a USB port are still rare on the market.

The official price of the Nitecore NL1840R model has not yet been announced. For reference, the brand's NL1840HP model without a USB port is sold in the US market for about $24. Shipments of the new model have already begun, and it is expected to appear on international retail platforms soon.

Given that Nitecore products are popular among tourists, hunters, and tech enthusiasts in the Uzbekistan market, this innovative battery is likely to appear on local store shelves as well. This will allow for recharging energy reserves without extra accessories, especially during long trips.
