Shortage of imported televisions emerges in Russia

In the first quarter of 2026, the share of local brands in the Russian television market reached 31.5%. In the same period last year, this figure was 30.5%. Sales volume amounted to nearly 630,000 units, with a total value of 13.2 billion rubles. This was reported by the Kommersant publication, citing data from major distributors. This is reported by news source.
The positions of Russian ecosystem brands have significantly strengthened: Sber's share rose to 8.3%, and Yandex to 3.4%. However, the DEXP brand, owned by the retailer DNS, lost its share, dropping to 6.4%. The company explained this by a revision of the model line and a new distribution strategy among brands.
The first quarter of the year was also characterized by a shortage of devices from popular Chinese and Korean brands. This situation allowed local manufacturers to increase their market share. According to Vladislav Borodin, Director of the Consumer Electronics Department at OCS, logistics complications due to conflicts in the Middle East have caused delivery problems.
Overall, at the beginning of 2026, 2 million televisions and smart panels were sold in Russia, which is 10% more than last year. The average price of televisions fell by 8% to 29,000 rubles. Experts predict that the growth of local brands will slow down slightly in the coming months as the shortage of Asian brands decreases.
