
As of April 8, 2025, Turkey has temporarily suspended lemon exports, nova24.uz reports. The decision aims to protect the domestic market, affected by cold weather in Adana, Mersin, and Hatay provinces.
Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry stated that additional measures may be implemented if necessary.
In 2024, Uzbekistan imported 16.5 thousand tons of lemons, with 10,024 tons coming from Turkey. Other key exporters included:
China — 4,106 tons
Tajikistan — 1,230 tons
Iran — 499 tons
Argentina — 382 tons
Other countries — 235 tons
Overall, Turkey exported 1.639 million tons of citrus fruits in 2024. Top importing countries:
Russia — $375 million
Iraq — $197 million
Ukraine — $108 million
Romania — $49 million
Poland — $48 million
