A viral video showing imported cars undergoing fake inspections at a testing site in Pskent, Tashkent region, sparked public outrage, reports nova24.uz.
The footage from November 29, 2024, shows vehicles entering a garage, waiting briefly without any visible staff, then exiting. Despite the lack of real tests, individuals and companies were charged for lab inspections.
UzTest later released an official statement confirming the video’s authenticity and attributing the incident to errors during the early phase of the site’s operation.
However, the agency blamed the blogger who exposed the case, accusing them of misleading the public, and threatened legal action.
UzTest claims that all current inspections now follow official protocols.
Netizens are now demanding accountability for the lost time and money of customers and car dealers.
