Tashkent parks to be guarded by dog patrols

Tashkent parks to be guarded by dog patrols
Starting from October 2025, Tashkent will launch an experimental “dog patrol” project in parks and public areas, Nova24.uz reported.

The pilot will run from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Service dogs trained under the National Guard will patrol public spaces to detect narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their analogues.

Patrol points will be set up in popular parks, including: Botanical Garden, Furqat Park, Tashkent City, Anhor-Lokomotiv, Navruz, Magic City, Milliy Bog, Gafur Gulom Park, Green Park, Mirzo Ulugbek Park, Lokomotiv and Ashxobod.

Dog handlers have been trained at the National Canine Center under the Customs Committee in two areas: narcotics detection and anti-terrorism. The patrol will be managed by the National Guard and the Tashkent Police Canine Unit. If successful, the project may expand nationwide.
