Active companies reduced by 100,000 from 2022 to 2025
Over the past three years, the number of active companies in Uzbekistan has significantly decreased, reports UPL.uz. In 2022, there were 542,672 companies operating, but by April 2025, this number had dropped to 442,402. This indicates a loss of approximately 100,000 legal entities.

The most significant reductions were observed in the industrial (38%) and construction (37%) sectors. Almost all economic sectors experienced a decline, except for healthcare and social services, which saw a 16% increase.

Interestingly, despite the decrease in the number of companies, the volume of goods produced and services rendered increased. For instance, in the first quarter of 2022, 92,064 industrial enterprises produced goods worth 114 trillion soums, while in 2025, 56,321 enterprises produced goods worth 211 trillion soums.
