Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, Uzbekistan will cease accepting students into part-time (correspondence) university programs, upl.uz reported.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the corresponding decree. The ban applies to both public and private universities.
Students already enrolled in part-time programs will be allowed to complete their studies under the existing curricula and receive their diplomas.
Alternative formats such as evening, online, and flexible daytime (part-time) education will be developed to replace traditional correspondence courses.
