Uzbekistan to define online user rights

Uzbekistan to define online user rights
Uzbekistan is developing a new law to regulate the activity of websites and online platforms, Nova24.uz reported.

The law will define user rights and protect citizens from false information, illegal content inciting hatred, and promoting violence and cruelty.

The draft is being developed by the Agency of Information and Mass Communications (AIMC) together with government agencies, civil organizations, and media experts.

Its goals include providing legal guarantees for users, protecting children from harmful material, and enabling cooperation between platforms and regulators.

It also aims to systematize internet content and clarify business conditions for website and platform owners.
