Only official importers can sell foreign medicines in Uzbekistan

Only official importers can sell foreign medicines in Uzbekistan
Starting July 1, only official importers and their dealers will be allowed to sell imported medicines in Uzbekistan, according to NOVA24. This is stipulated by the presidential decree dated May 23.

Additionally, from September 1, new requirements will be introduced for licensing pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies:

• All lease or gratuitous use agreements for premises where pharmaceutical activities will be conducted must be registered with tax authorities.

• Pharmacies must provide the option to pay for medicines using bank cards and other electronic payment methods.

If a tax audit reveals that a company purchases, transports, stores, or sells counterfeit drugs (without accompanying documents) or medicines without digital labeling, its license may be suspended.

From July 1, the sale of imported medicines to wholesale and retail sellers in Uzbekistan will only be permitted through the importing organization or its official dealers, and based on an electronic invoice
