In 2025, the first day of the sacred holiday Kurban Hayit falls on June 6, UPL.uz reported. This date was announced by the Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan based on the Islamic calendar. Since the month of Dhu al-Hijjah began on Wednesday, May 28, the Day of Arafat falls on June 5, and the first day of Kurban Hayit is June 6.

This date is also confirmed by international sources. On May 27, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia declared that Kurban Hayit would be observed on Friday, June 6. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan made a similar statement the following day.

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction published an updated 2025 work calendar aligned with Presidential Decree No. PQ-124 dated March 26, 2025. The document states that the first day of Kurban Hayit falls on Friday, June 6.

According to Article 208 of the Labor Code, the first day of Kurban Hayit is a public holiday. Therefore, people with a five-day workweek will enjoy a three-day holiday from June 6 to June 8 (Friday to Sunday). Those working six days a week will have June 6 and 8 off.
