Uzbekistan has sent a shipment of 183 tons of food to neighboring Afghanistan in honor of Eid al-Adha, reports NOVA24 citing the press service of the Surkhandarya regional government.

The humanitarian aid includes flour, rice, sugar, pasta and confectionery products, vegetable oil, instant foods, red beans, and mung beans. The handover took place at the premises of the company “Astras” in the city of Hairaton.

Previously, Afghanistan sent 16 trucks of white marble to Uzbekistan for the construction of the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand. This was agreed upon during a meeting in Termez between the Uzbek President’s special envoy for Afghanistan Ismatilla Ergashev, Surkhandarya governor Ulugbek Qosimov, Afghan cabinet chief Mullah Abdullah Wose, and Balkh province governor Muhammad Yusuf Vafo.
