Three ministries to relocate to New Tashkent soon
Three ministries in Uzbekistan will soon move to New Tashkent, upl.uz reported.

On June 9, 2025, Minister of Construction Sherzod Khidoyatov announced the relocation of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Ecology, and Ministry of Construction.

The current ministry buildings in Tashkent will be auctioned, with proceeds used to build new administrative facilities in New Tashkent.

Temporary lightweight structures have been prepared to house the ministries until permanent offices are completed. All ministries will be located close to one another in a unified complex for better coordination.

Selling the old buildings will help modernize infrastructure and ease congestion in Tashkent’s center.

The Ministry of Energy has already relocated. In December 2024, President Mirziyoyev visited New Tashkent and reviewed the construction.

To ease commuting, the Ministry of Transport is developing special public transport routes.

In February 2025, Anorbank purchased the Ministry of Energy and Uztransgaz buildings for 439.6 billion soums (approx. $34 million), sparking questions due to the absence of an auction.

New Tashkent is being built with eco-friendly standards, using solar panels for lighting.
