16 green power plants to launch by year-end

On June 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on supplying industrial enterprises with “green” energy, uz.kursiv.media reported.

In a short period, $6 billion in foreign investment has been attracted, and electricity production has reached 82 billion kWh.

By year-end, 12 solar and 4 wind power plants, along with 12 energy storage systems, will be launched. The total investment exceeds $5 billion. Additionally, 11 new projects worth $7.2 billion will begin construction.

Solar panels and storage units will be installed on major pump systems to reduce energy consumption from 6.5 to 4.5 billion kWh. Work will start from the Karshi main canal.

In the oil and gas sector, 240 MW of solar and 300 MW of storage capacity will be built, generating at least 600 million kWh per year.

The meeting also addressed converting 18 major sectors to autonomous energy and using solar systems in social institutions. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
