Powerful Magnetic Storm Hits Tashkent
A powerful magnetic storm has hit Tashkent and surrounding regions, UPL.uz reported.

According to the space weather monitoring portal Meteoagent, Earth is currently under the impact of a geomagnetic storm rated at a “red” level of intensity as of Monday, July 7, 2025.

Experts say this phenomenon may affect the well-being of weather-sensitive individuals. In Uzbekistan, doctors anticipate a possible rise in complaints of headaches, fatigue, and blood pressure fluctuations.

However, no emergency measures have been introduced. Medical institutions and local administrations continue working as usual. The situation is natural and doesn’t require intervention by law enforcement.

The storm is caused by recent solar activity — particularly coronal mass ejections that sent charged particles toward Earth, disrupting the planet’s magnetic field.

Forecasts suggest the geomagnetic conditions will return to normal by Tuesday, July 8, reducing the storm’s impact on both people and technical systems.

For reference, the most powerful magnetic storm in recorded history was the 1859 “Carrington Event.”
