Uzbekistan passes law on residence registration
Uzbekistan has passed a law regulating the registration of citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons at their place of residence or stay, reported the Ministry of Justice.
According to the law, anyone who provides accommodation for others must ensure those individuals are registered in a timely manner. This applies to property owners as well as those with usage rights.

If a person is staying temporarily, such as in a hotel or hostel, they must be registered through the E-mehmon system.

Uzbek citizens permanently living abroad must register within ten working days of arriving in the country.

Registration at the place of residence is carried out at:
• Migration and citizenship offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
• Public service centers.
• Online via the portal my.gov.uz.

Registration takes into account the social norm for residential space.
