Murder inside a market in Surkhandarya: 5 people stabbed

A brutal public killing in Surxondaryo region has shocked the public and gone viral on social media. According to reports, a man was stabbed to death by five individuals in front of his wife at a local market.

The Surxondaryo Regional Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the incident occurred in Sho‘rchi district and a criminal case has been opened under Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional murder). Two suspects have been detained and are currently under arrest.

According to the victim’s wife, the attackers were not strangers — they had previously threatened the family multiple times. Investigations are still underway, and the case is being personally supervised by the regional prosecutor's office.

This incident follows several other violent crimes across the country:
• In another district of Surxondaryo, a man was stabbed by his brother-in-law.
• In Samarkand, a 70-year-old man stabbed his 60-year-old in-law.
• In Bukhara, a man stabbed his wife during an argument.
• In Jizzakh, a man, driven by jealousy, killed his wife and then himself.
• In Vobkent, a drunken man stabbed his brother-in-law.
