Now those who litter face heavy fines

Starting from August 1, 2025, Uzbekistan will enforce stricter penalties for environmental violations.

Littering in unauthorized places will be fined between 412,000 and 1,236,000 UZS. The goal is to improve public environmental awareness.

Burning branches or plant waste will incur fines of 1,236,000 to 2,060,000 UZS. This is particularly dangerous during summer months.

Polluting water sources will lead to fines of 1,236,000 to 2,060,000 UZS.

Illegal cutting or damaging of trees and bushes will cost from 10,300,000 to 20,600,000 UZS.

Violating air protection rules during construction — 4,120,000 UZS fine.

Keeping wild animals illegally — 2,060,000 to 4,120,000 UZS, and animals will be confiscated.

Failure to restore damaged natural areas — 412,000 to 1,236,000 UZS.

Obstructing ecological inspectors — 2,060,000 to 4,120,000 UZS.

According to Resolution No. 464 of the Cabinet, damage to healthy trees will also require reimbursement of environmental harm.

These measures aim to boost responsibility and promote a cleaner, healthier environment.
