Mirziyoyev leaves for Turkmenistan to attend UN conference

On August 4, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Turkmenistan on a working visit at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The President's press service reported this official visit.

President Mirziyoyev will participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in the city of Avaza. The conference will focus on strengthening transport connectivity, simplifying trade procedures, promoting economic transformation, improving resilience to climate change and environmental risks, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and Action Program. In addition, the President will attend a preparatory meeting for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders.

Several bilateral meetings and negotiations are also scheduled during the visit.
