In recent years, Uzbekistan has taken significant steps to develop traditional medicine, improve the qualifications of specialists, and integrate the field into the modern healthcare system. Today, 150 licensed businesses operate successfully in the sphere of folk medicine.
However, there has been a growing number of so-called “healers” who, without proper licenses, use unverified and unauthorized methods to diagnose and treat diseases, putting people’s health and lives at risk. Many promote their “services” on social media, claiming to have “supernatural abilities” and offering treatments that have never been clinically tested.
The Health Ministry stressed that such practices do not comply with national clinical protocols and treatment standards. Moreover, these individuals have not been issued any licenses to operate, and using their services could seriously endanger one’s health.
