Entrepreneurial activity in Uzbekistan continues to grow steadily. This is evident from the number of small business entities established from January to July 2025, according to the Statistics Committee.
According to the data, 47,796 new small businesses were registered in the country during this period, excluding farms and dehkan households. This shows an increasing interest in private enterprise among the population.
The largest number of new entities was in the trade sector — 17,587 businesses. This makes up almost 37% of the total. It indicates that trade remains one of the most popular and profitable areas for entrepreneurs.
In the industrial sector, 6,189 businesses were established, while agriculture, forestry, and fishing accounted for 6,183 — nearly equal numbers, highlighting the continued importance of the agricultural sector in the economy.
Accommodation and food services saw 4,234 new businesses, construction — 2,680, information and communication — 1,763, transport and storage — 1,512, and health and social services — 989. The remaining 6,659 businesses fall into other categories.
Analysis shows that entrepreneurs prefer sectors tied to consumer demand. This trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
