At the beginning of September, Uzbekistanis with a five-day workweek will have three consecutive days off for Independence Day, Kursiv reported.
Employees with a six-day work schedule will have days off on August 31 and September 1. This was announced by the Ministry of Labor.
It was emphasized that no additional days off have been designated and no changes have been made to the existing calendar.
Also, the mayor of Washington city adopted a declaration proclaiming September 1 as the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
The city administration regarded this decision as a symbol of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Washington officials also recalled that the US was one of the first countries to recognize independent Uzbekistan.
