A modern and ecological center worth 140 billion will be built in Qumkurgan

In the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region, a large-scale modern eco-tourism complex is planned to be built near the "Southern Surkhan" reservoir. The project covers an area of 15.7 hectares and has an estimated cost of 140 billion UZS.

According to the Surkhandarya regional administration, the project aims to ensure environmental sustainability, protect the natural environment, and preserve the region’s biodiversity. It includes expanding green areas, creating convenient pedestrian and bicycle paths, building modern infrastructure, and implementing a safe wastewater treatment system.

The complex is expected to attract both local and foreign tourists. Recreational zones, walking areas, and eco-tourism services for families and children will be established. This will create new job opportunities, boost tourism infrastructure, and support economic growth in the region.

The regional governor visited the site along with experts to review project logistics and ecological compliance. He instructed that construction be carried out step by step and within the planned deadlines.

The eco-tourism center around the "Southern Surkhan" reservoir is expected to become a prominent location on the country's tourism map, contributing to eco-tourism development and raising public environmental awareness.
