President: Tashkent-East Airport is ready for operation as a new strategic aviation

On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the new airport built on the basis of the “Tashkent-Sharqiy” airfield and assessed the project’s readiness. As our country develops and its international standing grows, ties with the world are becoming more active; therefore, measures are being taken to proportionally develop all areas of transport infrastructure.

One of these strategic projects is the business aviation complex based on the “Tashkent-Sharqiy” airfield. Its construction began in 2017. After passing through the pandemic and subsequent difficulties, the large facility has finally been completed.

The total area of the airport is 561 hectares. The 4-kilometer runway and 3 taxiways have been renewed and have gained the capacity to receive the heaviest aircraft. An apron designed for 20 “aircraft” has been built. Hangars for Boeing 787, A320 aircraft, business jets and helicopters have been constructed. This ensures that they are kept warm in winter, cool in summer and safe.

VIP and CIP terminals have been erected at the airport. In the hall for high-ranking guests, all conditions have been created for official reception, negotiations and briefings. The CIP terminal, with a capacity to handle 100 passengers per hour, will have shops and dining areas.

Importantly, the airport will be equipped with advanced radio-technical and meteorological equipment of ICAO Category III-A. This will allow take-offs and landings even in unfavorable weather conditions.

Due to its convenient location, the new airport will become an important transport hub for the capital and the New Tashkent city. Opportunities for international visits and business trips will expand, and conditions for foreign investors will improve. As a result, economic ties and the service sector will further develop, and new jobs will be created.

The head of our state spoke here with public activists and respected elders.

“Having prepared for many years, we built such an airport. This is another foundation of statehood. Here, guests of our Motherland and aircraft will be served at a high level. As a result, the load on Tashkent International Airport will be eased. God willing, we have also planned to build a large complex for that airport in another location. In general, we have launched large projects in all our regions. May our peace not be jinxed, and may new facilities and prosperity be granted to our people,” the President said.

Thus, the new airport at “Tashkent-Sharqiy” serves not only business aviation but also further enhances the country’s policy of global openness, international logistics and investment attractiveness.
