A large garment factory called Innovative Apparel has started operating in the Kushtepa district of the Fergana region. The company received the first orders for the H&M brand, Kursiv.media reports.
The regional governor, Khayrullo Bozorov, and entrepreneur Muzaffar Razzakov attended the opening ceremony. The launch of the factory coincided with the 34th anniversary of the country's independence.
The project was implemented jointly with Sri Lankan partners. The investment amount is $15 million. At full capacity, the enterprise will provide jobs for 3.5 thousand people.
Innovative Apparel products are exported to Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, and the UAE. A training center and medical service points will also be organized on the territory of the enterprise.
