In the first eight months of 2025, Uzbekistan purchased 54.6 thousand tons of poultry meat from abroad. This is 14.2% more compared to the same period last year, Kursiv.media reported.
It was reported that 59.1 million dollars (725 billion soums) were spent on imported poultry meat. This was announced by the State Statistics Committee.
The main supplier country was Russia, providing 13.9 thousand tons of meat. 9.8 thousand tons came from Turkey, and 7 thousand tons from Belarus.
In addition, Belgium supplied 5.6 thousand tons, the Netherlands 4.2 thousand tons, and 14.1 thousand tons of poultry meat were imported from other countries.
During the first eight months of this year, Uzbekistan imported a total of 2.6 billion dollars (32.2 trillion soums) worth of food products. This indicates a 14% increase for the year.
Among the imported products, grain took the main share—609 million dollars (7.5 trillion soums) and meat—504.7 million dollars (6.25 trillion soums).
Uzbekistan also purchased sugar—331.9 million dollars (4.1 trillion soums), and vegetables and fruits—294.4 million dollars (3.65 trillion soums).
