According to World Bank experts, beef prices in the world have risen to unprecedented levels. This situation has been recorded as the highest figure observed since 1960, UPL.uz reported.
According to the data, in September 2025, the average price of one kilogram of beef was $6.9 (about 85,000 soums). This figure has been continuously increasing over the last four months.
It increased by another 0.6% from August to September, and the annual growth has reached almost 10%. The main reasons cited are decreased supply and increased demand.
Several factors are affecting beef prices: the length of the production cycle in livestock farming, overall inflation, increased consumer demand in the USA and China, and a reduction in the number of animals sent for slaughter because dairy products can no longer compete.
In addition, due to drought, pastures are decreasing and feed prices are rising. In the USA, the number of cows has dropped to its lowest level since 1951.
