New stage between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, held a meeting with a delegation from the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI). The delegation was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the ACCI, Ariyan Azimi.

The parties discussed issues of expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries, strengthening cooperation between the private sector, and stimulating mutual investments.

A number of important initiatives were put forward at the meeting:

  • Holding quarterly B2B meetings in Tashkent, Kabul, Termez, and Balkh;
  • A proposal to open an ACCI representative office in Tashkent;
  • Simplification of business visas for Afghan entrepreneurs;
  • Acceleration of cargo transportation and customs processes in the port of Termez;
  • Holding joint trade exhibitions annually.

The parties noted that these initiatives will contribute to increasing trade volumes, implementing new investment projects, and strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs.

At the end of the meeting, Davron Vakhabov assessed the visit of the Afghan delegation as a new stage in trade and economic relations.
