The government of Uzbekistan has expanded visa-free entry into the country for citizens of several more countries. According to a new resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, citizens of Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia can now visit Uzbekistan visa-free for 30 days, official sources reported.
This decision was made within the framework of the country's international openness policy and tourism development strategy, which aims to increase the number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan and intensify business ties.
At the same time, the document established a 2-day business visa processing period for citizens of 12 countries - Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Japan. Citizens of the UAE, Iran, and Pakistan will be able to obtain a business visa within 3 days.
Currently, the number of countries whose citizens can enter Uzbekistan visa-free has reached 86. This is a record figure for the country and is expected to have a positive impact on its international image.
Among the countries in the new list, China was the last to join. Previously, Chinese citizens had the right to visit Uzbekistan visa-free for only 7 days. According to the new decree, this period has now been extended to 30 days.
Officials emphasized that the visa-free regime will not only increase tourist flow but also create new opportunities in the field of economic cooperation and trade. In particular, this decision could be an important step in implementing investment projects with such countries as Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
At the same time, according to the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, the number of guests arriving in the country has sharply increased in recent years, and by the end of 2025, this figure is expected to exceed 8 million people.
According to experts, the expansion of visa-free regimes will make Uzbekistan one of the leading countries in Central Asia based on the "open gate" policy. This will activate not only the tourism sector, but also international business, transport, and cultural cooperation.
With the entry into force of the new decree, a new stage in the country's foreign economic relations is expected to begin - that is, Uzbekistan is strengthening its position in the process of global integration, establishing visa-free relations with even more countries.
