Meat prices in Uzbekistan increased by 23 percent

Since the beginning of the year, meat prices have increased by 23 percent, Uz24 reported.

On October 24, at a press conference, Central Bank Chairman Timur Ishmetov announced the government's measures to stabilize the prices of socially significant goods in the economy.

Although overall inflation slowed to 8% in September, the prices of socially important goods remain much higher. Throughout the year, the prices of the following products have risen:

– Beef — 23.2% (approximately 108,000 soums/kg)

– Potatoes — 18.5%

– Gasoline — 11.8%

Ishmetov emphasized that practical measures are being taken in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies to stabilize the prices of these products.

In the coming years, to maintain inflation at a low and stable level, it is necessary to eliminate the main supply-related factors, increase competition in the domestic market, and reduce tariff and non-tariff restrictions. Additionally, great attention is being given to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of energy resources and developing transport infrastructure.

These measures will contribute to economic stability and stabilization of product prices.
