The Presidents signed a new package of cooperation documents

Following the fruitful negotiations at the Kuksaroy residence, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Joint Statement.

In addition, a ceremony was held in the presence of the heads of state for the exchange of the following bilateral documents:

  • Agreement on the Activities of the Uzbek-Turkmen Border Trade Zone;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare and medical science;
  • Agreement on the Further Development of Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture;
  • Protocol on Amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Prevention and Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies;
  • Protocol on Amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement on International Road Transport;
  • Program of cooperation between the Ministries of Justice for 2026-2027;
  • Program of cooperation in the field of culture for 2026-2027;
  • Memorandum on cooperation in the field of supply of railway cars for the transportation of petroleum products and liquid chemical goods;
  • Memorandum of Understanding on ensuring biological security;
  • Memorandum between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the Institute for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the establishment of the Uzbek-Turkmen Expert Council;
  • Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of Uzbekistan and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan;
  • "roadmap" for cooperation in the field of forestry for 2026-2030;
  • Agreements on cooperation in the trade-economic, scientific-technical, and cultural-humanitarian spheres between the khokimiyats of Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions and the khokimiyat of Lebap region, the khokimiyat of Tashkent region and the khokimiyat of Akhal region, and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the khokimiyat of Dashoguz region.

These documents will create a solid legal basis for the implementation of new joint projects, increasing trade turnover, more effective use of transport and logistics potential, as well as deepening humanitarian and interregional ties.
