A large heat supply center was commissioned in Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the activities of a large-capacity cogeneration plant built in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent.

In order to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of heat to the population and economic facilities in the capital during the winter season, a number of modern cogeneration plants are being commissioned, which simultaneously generate electricity and heat.

One of such important initiatives is the 100 MW project, built on the basis of public-private partnership on the territory of the 4th heating center in Yunusabad district.

The project, implemented jointly with the Chinese company "CNTIC," is located on an area of 3.5 hectares. 65 million dollars of foreign direct investment was directed to its financing.

The Head of State familiarized himself with the center's work process.

70 gas-piston units of the British company "Rolls-Royce" were installed at the cogeneration facility.

The heat supply infrastructure from boiler houses to consumers has been reconstructed. The heating mains have been updated. The networks were replaced with insulated pipes. This allows for the prevention of energy losses of varying degrees.

As a result of the commissioning of the center, 876 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 858 thousand gigacalories of thermal energy will be generated annually. At the same time, 35 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved annually.

Now, a total of 1,846 facilities located in the Yunusabad, Almazar, Shaykhantakhur, Mirzo-Ulugbek, and Yakkasaray districts of the capital will be provided with constant thermal energy. Of these, 1,400 are residential buildings, and the rest are social facilities. Also, 292 thousand households will be provided with electricity.

With the launch of the project, the costs of generating thermal energy will decrease by 40-45 percent. The amount of pollutants released into the atmosphere will be significantly reduced, and wastewater discharges will not occur.

Here, the head of state reviewed the work carried out in preparation for the autumn-winter season and presented proposals for the development of heating plants, modernization of the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant, improvement of landscaping work in the capital, as well as the distribution of forces and resources involved in service in conditions of abnormally cold weather.

There are 11,630 apartment buildings in the capital. They are served by 358 management service companies. The Head of State inquired about their readiness for the season.

- In urban conditions, the activities of management service companies are inextricably linked with the life of the population. Therefore, they must work precisely and continuously, like a clock mechanism. The necessary conditions are being created for this. Now the worldview and approach of employees in the field must also change. It is necessary to check on the well-being of the population, maintain order in the basements and roofs of apartment buildings, corridors and playgrounds, - said the President.

Responsible officials in the energy, landscaping, construction, and service sectors were also given appropriate instructions to work systematically and coordinatedly throughout the season.
