Although this difference is barely noticeable to the naked eye, it is very clearly visible in professional telescopes and photographs.
Astronomers also noted that the reverse situation will be observed in the second half of the year. In July 2026, Earth will reach the farthest point from the Sun - aphelion. At this time, the visible size of the Sun will be significantly smaller than in January.
