Main Cause of Air Pollution in Tashkent Revealed

Uzhydromet revealed the reasons for the sharp deterioration of air quality in Tashkent, uznews.uz reported. On March 1, the capital once again topped the global rankings for air pollution levels. According to experts, this is due to the arrival of a cold air flow and the sharp temperature difference between night (+3...+5) and day (+11...+15 degrees).

These meteorological factors slowed down air exchange in the lower layers of the atmosphere, which limited the dispersion of pollutants. As a result, an increase in the concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 fine particles was observed. However, forecasters predict that the rainfall expected tomorrow will help improve air quality indicators.
