Dangerous canal crossing in Sergeli to be regulated

Officials have responded to the issue of a canal crossing in Tashkent's Sergeli district that poses a danger to residents, especially children. Previously, reports circulated that local residents were forced to use utility pipes to cross the canal. After this situation caused public outcry, district administration officials visited the site to assess the situation.

Based on the assessment, it was decided to take immediate measures to ensure safety in the area. Instead of closing the crossing entirely for now, temporary regulation and improvement works will be carried out. Specifically, until large-scale construction begins, the crossing over the pipes will be equipped with special protective barriers. This will allow pedestrians, especially school children, to cross the canal safely.

In the future, a new, modern bridge that meets all requirements for pedestrians and vehicles is planned for this area. Officials stated that this project will be implemented in stages to create comfortable conditions for the population. Currently, work in the area is under control, and safety measures are being strengthened.
