Uzhydromet issued an important warning

In the mountainous and foothill areas of Uzbekistan, flash floods may occur. Uzhydromet issued this in an urgent warning.

It is reported that on March 26 and 28-30 of this year, expected rains may cause the risk of flash floods in the following districts and cities of the republic:

  • Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dehkanobod, Chiroqchi, Kitab, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, Guzor;
  • Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altinsay, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shurchi, Qumqorgon, Muzrabot;
  • Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Qoshrobat, Kattakurgan, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtikhon;
  • Navoi region: Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimeh, Karmana;
  • Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, Yangiyobod;
  • Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bustonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik, and the cities of Angren and Olmaliq;
  • Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, Yangiqorgon;
  • Fergana region: Soh, Shahimardon, Fergana, Beshariq;
  • Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qorgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat, and the city of Khonabad.

Citizens living in mountainous and foothill areas, vacationers, and drivers are asked to take precautions. In some areas, rainwater may accumulate, which can lead to flooding.

Uzhydromet urges the population to remain attentive, move safely, and be prepared for possible water overflow.
