The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been put on full combat alert following Hamas's announcement to halt the handover of Israeli hostages. This was announced on Monday, February 10, by Defense Minister Israel Katz, who called Hamas's decision a "complete violation" of the ceasefire agreement previously reached by the parties.
The Gaza Strip has been reinforced with additional forces for defense, the holidays of soldiers and command units have been postponed, and the forces are being prepared for various scenarios, an IDF spokesman said.

Earlier, Hamas officials announced that they would postpone the planned February 15 hostage handover to Israel due to non-compliance with the truce. The list of alleged violations by Israel includes: preventing Palestinians from returning to the northern Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of tents, fuel, medicine and equipment for clearing rubble.
UN finds Trump's plan to relocate Palestinians illegal
US President Donald Trump's plan to relocate Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip violates international law. This opinion was expressed by Navi Pillay, the chairwoman of the Independent Commission on the Palestinian Territory, established by the UN Human Rights Council, in an interview with Politico published on February 9.
“Trump has a terrible lack of understanding of international law. The forcible transfer of a group of people living in occupied territory is a violation of international law and amounts to ethnic cleansing,” she said. According to Pillay, there is no “legal way” to implement Trump’s idea of relocating Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and handing them over to the United States.
Pillay, a former judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and a special court that tried the Rwandan genocide, condemned Trump’s sanctions on ICC officials for their investigations into American citizens and US allies such as Israel. “International law applies equally to friends of a state, without double standards,” Pillay said.
