A Mini Cooper driver has rammed into a crowd of people at a demonstration by the Verdi trade union in central Munich, according to police and Bild.

According to the latest reports, at least 27 people were injured in the incident, some of them in serious condition. Emergency services are working at the scene, and the injured are being taken to hospitals.

According to police, on February 13 at around 10:30 a.m., a driver of a Mini Cooper drove into a group of people taking part in a trade union demonstration in central Munich. According to Bild, two people were seriously injured and children were among the injured.

Police are trying to determine whether the driver intentionally drove into the crowd or accidentally pressed the gas and brake pedals. Gunshots were heard near the scene, but this information has not yet been officially confirmed. The suspected driver has already been detained and is reported to be a 24-year-old Afghan citizen.
